Question 1: My energy story: I have always been fascinated by clean energy since I was a kid when I went to an outdoor show and there was a stand marketing solar panels & wind turbines, this was a long time ago, maybe 30 years ago or more. The size of the solar panels back then were huge for the amount of power they produced, yet they looked so futuristic and intriguing. They were so expensive and I could only dream of owning this amazing green ‘free’ energy. Later in life, I was fortunate enough to have been able to buy some solar panels which I absolutely love. They are such rugged things, they bathe in the sun, take a battering from the wind, get drenched in the rain, frozen in the snow and they withstand the highs of summer and lows of winter yet they gracefully and silently keep making lots and lots of electricity. They are one of the greatest inventions ever.
Imagine not having electric, no computers, no internet, no gadgets to tinker with, the great thing is that they are green, need virtually no maintenance and last for ages, there are big ones, small ones, foldable ones and they are expandable to whatever the power needed. EcoWorthy sell all manner of eco products to complement them and I have one of their 3kw power inverters and it is a beast. So to answer the question in 2 parts, 1) I took green energy seriously many years ago when I first saw them at that show and 2) the cost of getting electricity connected via the grid being too expensive means that green energy has made this possible for me.

I don’t know how sensible it is but maybe when I’m charging my system and it’s 100% full any charging capacity is then directed towards a water heating which is my biggest biggest use of energy and in some way which is automatic.
It was when I realized that the batteries lasted such a long time and that I could use most of their capacity each time.
